Browning and toning. Westwood says, "Originally published in the eighth edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, but, in the words of the author, he 'has strengthened the mid-pieces, repaired the top, and given the whole a coat of varnish.' A 'List of books on angling,' including about 100 volumes, is inserted between the treatises. The treatise on angling is much above the ordinary level as a manual" (242). A tight, clean copy.
