Large quarto (32.5 cm) in dark green publisher's cloth with gilt titles and decorations to cover and spine, t.e.g., pictorial green endpapers. More than sixty illustrations including eight full-page colour plates from watercolours by Ogden Pleissner and Robert Nesbit, two etchings, and two maps, all with tissue guards. Eugene V. Connett III founded Derrydale Press in 1927 and over the next fourteen years published 169 sporting titles, of which Phair's Atlantic Salmon Fishing is probably the best known. It has long been regarded as the most important work on Atlantic salmon fishing and certainly is one of the most attractive. A clean, bright, and sound copy of an exceptionally handsome book, almost as good looking as the salmon. Price: $700.00
