Large quarto (32 cm) in half leather over pictorial covers, five raised bands, gilt decoration to spine; three hundred fine plates in b & w and colour illustrative of various South American orchids, especially Amazonia; botanical details, habitat, diseases, etc. Text in Portuguese but accessible via Spanish.
