Long folio (28 cm) in pictorial stiff wraps; foreword by Kenneth Brower; many colour and b&w illustrations, detailed plans, photographs; lightly rubbed at bottom edge. The history and the various design adaptations of the Aleut kayak or, as the Russians in earlier times called these craft, baidarka— boats of skin over light wooden frames.
