Illustrated with fourteen engravings and other decorations by John Droeshout (frontispiece Juan IV, decorated title page [facs.], tailpiece Lusitania, Henricus [facs.], Alphonsus [facs.], Juan I, family tree, Phoenix, vigilant dragon, Joannes IV [facs.], Juan triumphant [facs.], Dominabitur Astris, Fortitudine ac Prudentia, Obelisk. With the bookplates of J. Wilcocks, Esq., Barton-Seagrave, near Kettering, Northhamptonshire, U.K.; Sir James Stuart. Bt., Chief Justice of Lower Canada; Henry James Grasett (likely, the elder, Anglican churchman). Binding repaired and five engraved plates supplied in facsimile, as noted; absent ffep and any half-title; absent pp. 94, 144, 559, 649, 791; some pages mis-numbered and in one instance mis-bound.
